Hello there,

It’s time for a new challenge over at  Freshly Made Sketches. This week’s sketch designer is Judy and she has designed a great clean and graphic sketch for you to create with. I chose to rotate it to turn it into a landscape format and played with some brush stroke stamps to create a light background. But there are so many other ways to play with this graphic layout.

Le nouveau challenge Freshly Made Sketches est en ligne et, cette semaine, Judy vous a dessiné un sketch très graphique.  J’ai choisi de le pivoter d’un quart de tour pour avoir un format paysage et j’ai joué avec quelques tampons de fond pour encrer un arrière plan très léger. Il y a bien d’autres façons d’interpréter ce sketch, à vous de trouver la vôtre.

Hello!

Here is my take on this week Color Throwdown challenge. I love so much the soft color palette Broni has chosen for us to play with. These light shades look so fresh. It inspired me a very simple birthday card and I let the pretty colors do all the job.

Voici ma participation au challenge Color Throwdown de cette semaine. J’aime beaucoup le combo que Boni nous propose. C’est un camaïeu d’une si belle fraîcheur. Il m’a inspiré une carte d’anniversaire très simple où j’ai choisi de laisser la part belle à ces jolies couleurs.

Hello!

Today’s card t was inspired by the color palette Amy Rysavy has chosen for this week’s Color Throwdown challenge. chose to go with a super simple baby card. I dressed the sweet bunny with a striped T-Shirt using the paper piecing technique. I diecut the bunny twice, once out of plain white cardstock (I colored it in pale blue) and once out of some white and red striped paper. Then, I cut the head, arms and legs out of the striped bunny in order to create a kind of T-Shirt.

Voici mon interprétation du combo proposé par Amy Rysavy pour le challenge Color Throwdown  de cette semaine.  Il m’a donné envie de faire une carte de naissance simplissime avec ce doudou lapin que j’aime tant et que j’ai habillé d’un T-Shirt rayé en utilisant la technique du « paper piecing ».  J’ai découpé le lapin deux fois, une fois dans du bristol blanc (je l’ai colorisé en bleu) et une fois dans un papier rayé rouge et blanc. J’ai recoupé cette deuxième découpe de façon à ne garder qu’une forme de T-shirt.

JUST US Girls #582 – Word Week : Float

Hello there,

Happy Saturday everyone! Welcome to this week’s  Just Us Girls  challenge. It’s Word Week and Sue chose the cue word « Float ». This can be puzzling, but actually, there are plenty of options. So many things float on water or in the air. I chose fishes. But they have something special since I stamped them on a scrap of watercolor paper on which I had made some color tried. When working with watercolor, I always try the colors before applying them on my project and I keep all these colored bits of paper. I stamped the fishes on one of them and fussy cut them. 

Cette semaine, c’est un défi « En un mot » que nous vous proposons chez Just Us Girls et Sue vous invite à  jouer avec le mot « Flotter ».  De prime abord, cela peut vous sembler déroutant mais en fait, il y a plein de possibilités. Tant de choses flottent, que ce soit sur l’eau ou dans les airs … Pour ma part, j’ai opté pour des poissons. Mais ils ont une particularité : je les ai tamponnés sur un bout de papier aquarelle sur lequel j’avais fait des essais de couleur. Lorsque je travaille à l’aquarelle, je teste toujours mon pinceau sur un bout de papier avant d’appliquer la couleur sur mon projet.  Et comme je conserve presque tout, je garde aussi ces bouts de papier bariolés de multiples touches de couleurs. C’est sur l’un d’eux que j’ai tamponné les poissons. Je les ai ensuite détourés pour pouvoir les mettre en scène.

Hello!

Here is my take on the color palette Vickie has chosen for this week’s Color Throwdown challenge. The colors are : Yellow, Orange, Red and Kraft. For yellow, orange and red, I knew at once what I wanted to do. I played with watercolors randomly applying the three colors. Then, after complete dry, I stamped the flower slightly offsetting the image from the color sploches. But I confess I was a bit puzzled on how to add some kraft hints. I thought of several options but was never happy with any of them. In the end, I decided to simply stamp the sentiment using Toffee Crunch Memento ink. 

Voici mon interprétation du combo proposé par Vickie pour le challenge Color Throwdown de cette semaine. Le couleurs demandées sont : Jaune, Orange, Rouge et kraft. Pour le jaune, l’orange et le rouge, j’ai tout de suite su ce que je voulais faire. J’ai joué avec mes aquarelles et appliqué les trois couleurs un peu au hasard. Après séchage complet, j’ai tamponné la fleur en la décalant légèrement par rapport aux taches de couleur. En revanche, j’ai dû me creuser un peu la tête pour ajouter la quatrième couleur (le kraft). J’ai envisagé, en vain, plusieurs options, pour finalement me décider à tout simplement tamponner le sentiment avec une encre Memento « Toffee Crunch ».

CASology 388 – Hello

CASology 388 – Hello

Hello!

For this fortnight’s CASology challenge, the cue word is « Hello ».  I love this kind of theme which can meet any purpose. I wanted my card to be simple, bright and cheerful, just a little note to say someone he/she means a lot. I used some alcohol based markers to roughly color some white cardstock in coral, mint and light pink and then I diecut the word « hello » out of this colored panel. To add some interest I also diecut it out of some black cardstock and stacked the two diecuts with a slight offset.

Le mot clé de cette quinzaine chez CASology est « Hello ».  J’adore ce thème, il est parfait pour beaucoup d’occasion. J’avais envie d’une carte toute simple mais colorée et très gaie. Un petit mot, donc,  pour témoigner de son affection à quelqu’un, en toute simplicité. Avec des feutres à alcool, j’ai barbouillé du bristol blanc en corail, menthe et rose pâle. Puis, j’ai découpé le « Hello » dedans. Pour apporter un peu plus de contraste, je l’ai également découpé en noir et j’ai superposé le deux découpes avec un léger décalage.

Happy wednesday and welcome to   Freshly Made Sketches. It’s my privilege to provide the sketch this week and here is the one I came up with. I hope you’ll have plenty of fun playing with it. Remember that we love free thinking at FMS, so feel free to use any shapes, in case circles get you nervous 😉 . Even though I thought circles, I ended up with a fun love card featuring no circles 😀 .

FUSION – Bee Kind.

FUSION – Bee Kind.

Hi there,

Though there is no bee on my card, it’s been inspired by the current FUSION Challenge. I played with both the sketch and the inspiration photo. Obvisouly, I stretched the sketch a little bit. I turned it into a landscape format and the big stamped « Bonheur » (which means Happiness) stands for the bottom shape. As for the photo, the butterfly is a substitute for the bee but I colored it a bit like a bee and I created a light blue background which reminds the one on the photo. 

Vous ne trouverez pas d’abeille sur ma carte. Et pourtant, c’est bien ma participation au challenge FUSION de la quinzaine.  Comme à chaque fois, j’ai joué à la fois avec le sketch et la photo d’inspiration. Bon d’accord, c’est une interprétation plutôt libre du sketch , je l’ai transformé en format paysage et le tampon « Bonheur » XXL joue le rôle de la partie inférieure.  Quant à la photo, j’ai juste substitué un papillon à l’abeille, mais je l’ai un peu colorisé comme l’abeille. et je l’ai positionné sur un fond bleu ciel qui rappelle celui de la photo. Bref, j’ai pris quelques libertés (comme souvent devrais-je dire 😉 ) mais mon inspiration vient bien de là.

Bonjour,

La bonne pioche - mars 2021 Pioche30Voici le duo de cartes inspiration proposé par Eli29 pour la « Bonne Pioche » de mars sur  le forum Little Scrap. Il s’agit donc de reprendre :

3 éléments de la carte n°1 : pour moi ce sera, le fond écritures, les taches ocre/sépia et le feuillage blanc.

2 éléments de la carte n°2 : j’ai repris le cadre évidé  et le papillon, ce qui m’a d’ailleurs bien facilité la tâche pour intégrer mon fil rouge personnel du mois, le petit papillon Sokaï 😉
